Conveyors & Automation FAQs

What is a Conveyor?

A conveyor is a mechanical handling device which can continuously move materials or products from one location to another. This can reduce manual labour costs and increase efficiency. Safety can be improved as lifting and carrying heavy items is reduced.

What are the benefits of automating with conveyors?

Conveyors can automatically move your products from one area or process to another, without the need of manually handling products. Labour costs can therefore be reduced, which helps to reduce your costs and make you more competitive. Our software systems can stop and start section of conveyors to save energy and to control the flow of products. This helps to keep your production continuously flowing through your site creating an efficient, cost effective operation.

Why should I consider automation ASAP?

Have you considered how every hour of lost productivity will add up into days and months of lost operational costs. While labour costs are increasing, companies need to automate to stay competitive and ahead of the competition. Improve your productivity now, to see days, months and even years of cost saving benefits.

How much does a conveyor cost?

The initial investment can quickly be recovered by increased efficiency and reducing manual labour costs. We use standard conveyor modules within our systems, so they are reliable, easy to maintain, and cost effective. A MONK Conveyor system can transform the efficiency of your operation.

What conveyor is right for me and how will I choose?

There is a wide choice of conveyor technology available, and the best choice will depend on product size and shape, weight, centre of gravity, stability, environment and throughput (i.e. number of products per hour). We will assess this information and use our many years of experience to help determine the best type of equipment for your products. We will also want to understand your building layout and other parts of your process to help make the right choice.

How will you handle my enquiry?

We will find out about the products you want to put on conveyors. From this we can select and suggest the right equipment and discuss a layout. We may want to come to site to see your products, and look at the space available. When you are happy we will provide you a proposal which will include all the options, installation, commissioning, training and handover. Smaller systems can be inspected in our factory before delivery. Larger system can be handed over to you on your site. We will continue to support the conveyor system with warranty, dial in support and maintenance visits as required.

What products can you transport on conveyors?

We handle a wide range of products, from small medicine bottles, tablet boxes, packed food, shipping bags, cartons, crates, tote bins, trays and pallets.
